Description:

This lens is as about as new as you'll ever find cosmetically, optically and mechanically (based on using it in manual mode). This lens does not work in AF mode mounted on my Sony A850, thus I believe it to be the Mk 1 version, so it's likely it was designed for the earlier Minolta AF SLR's such as the 5000/7000/9000 and thus is not compatible with DSLR's. The EXIF reads F1 and F9 in the viewfinder, though the lens apeture remains at F22. It's still a supreme example of the lens type regardless. There are only two lens adjustments available in manual mode: zoom and focus. There is no aperture adjustment ring.

The aperture blades are perfectly clean, oil free with a smooth snappy operation with no signs of any internal ingress such as fungus or dust. In addition, I also have on sale a superlative example of a Minolta AF 35-70mm F4 Macro and a brand new Tamron SP AF 70-300mm Di USD which has been used once for 4 hours which was bought as a stop-gap pending delivery of a Sigma AF 100-300mm F4 EX DG (IF) APO.

I believe the Tokina SH-522 lens hood is the compatible original version.

If anyone is interested in all 3 lenses, I will be happy to negotiate a bundle price.

This lens incorporates a Super-Low Dispersion (SD) glass for superb colour rendition and sharpness, plus you get a fast maximum aperture at F4. This lens looks unused and you'll be hard pressed to note any wear. You might consider the lens more towards "mint".

You should note the remarks in the Dyxum data relating to this lens as there is also a Mk II version which may be the one that is compatible with digital bodies, but others have reported that this version also works with DSLR bodies, but I advise anyone who is interested to research the lens themselves as I've provided all the information that I can.

Full specifications and user reviews and feedback at Dyxum website.

Please take note of the remarks at the bottom of the Dyxum lens data page regarding camera body compatibility.
