Every month , we will recommend a book that we think every photographer should have.  The first book is called "Lighting for Portrait Photography" by Steve Bavister.

What we really like about it is that it is filled with high quality portrait photos (of famous people) and then tells us all about the lighting conditions used and some EXIF data about this photo.

The diagrams show how the studio was set up and includes what equipment was used.  Some photos use just natural light from windows and open doors.  Others use natural light sources and a single flash and reflectors.  It does get advanced towards the end of the book (using 5 or 6 light sources and a variety of reflectors and boards to create shade).  All in all, it is the best book we have seen so far regarding how to set up lighting for your Portrait Photography, so we highly recommend it, especially if you are about to set up a lighting studio.
